Matthew Pickering-Copley (bass, vocals) and Tom Clements (drums) aka run,WALK! have been battering UK and European audiences with their bass-led artrock for several years.
They formed as teenagers in the southern city of Winchester and it wasn't long until they were snapped up by influential hardcore label Holy Roar (Gallows, Rolo Tomassi, Trash Talk, The Ghost of a Thousand). Shortly afterwards they released the seventrack EP 'I Hope This All Works Out So I Can Stop Standing on Even Amounts of Manholes in the Street' to critical acclaim.
Their unrelenting hard work and dedication to the cause was rewarded in 2011 with a slot at SXSW where the band where one of the loudest and most devastating highlights of the festival.
Recent tours alongside the likes of Lavotchkin and Crocus have further demonstrated whyrun,WALK! are one of the most exciting and furious live acts in the UK right now.
run,WALK!’s contribution to this split are the tracks “Rainhouse” & “Straight Lines” which boast some serious slabs of distortion, feedback and a megaton of low-end crunch with sharp hooks and stop-start rhythms. These guys are noisy. Like, NOISY noisy. They take no prisoners. All they want is to batter your ear drums and have a good time.
On the other side of the split Sirs(brought to you by Topshelf Records) simply crank their amps to 11 and make nearly every second a high-velocity affair with the tracks “Bering Straight” &“Buzzard Kill (River)”. Primary musical influences include The Band, Anti-Nowhere League and Electric Light Orchestra. Having met run,WALK! at SXSW and realising they shared a love for all things loud, a split record was always inevitable.
Upcoming run,WALK! live dates:
19th August, The Borderline, London w/ Brontide
20th August, The Angel, Wisbech
23rd August, The Joiners, Southampton w/ Brontide
4th September, The Star And Garter, Manchester
28th October, The Green Park Tavern, Bath
run,WALK! and Sirs 7" split will be available on 10 October 2011, to hear what all the fuss is about then head over to run,WALK!'s Soundcloud page and Sirs' Topshelf Records profile.
