Charley Says... meowmeowmeow... always tell your mummy before you place a roadcone on your head!
Yesterday I laughed, I laughed a lot. Now it isn't the done thing to laugh at the misfortune of other, but this tickled me. In a tribute to times gone by in Cartmel Bar having a lunchtime beer and struggling with the Mirror Quizword (a cunning play on the words quiz and crossword), I felt I had to share the blog below.
It seems that a young lad from Devon has been stealing roadcones for his own one-man/boy re-enactment of Harry Potter. Sadly the poor child didn't realise that although the cone was nice comfortable fit, it unfortunately didn't want to leave its new home – if you want the Potter analogy 'the sorting hat was having a very long indecisive moment'.
The best bit was the picture of the child with a glum expression and a roadcone delicately balanced on his head – ah what fun the photographer must have had getting the right mood for the shot.
S has his Halloween party next week (I'm not really into Halloween, but it would be hard on an 18 month for him to miss out seeing as how all his friends are going) and I have instructed K that he can only go as Dracula – he may well wander around trying to bite all the other kids, but at least he won't suffer the ignominy of having the fire brigade out to cut him free of a plastic cone.

We're not allowed to have Halloween in our house.

Jo (who loves the Harry Potter books and went to see the latest movie without me*) has decreed that Halloween is evil.
I may have to sneak something vaguely Satanic into the house in retaliation.
Oh actually, I've already got some Cradle of Filth CDs here.
*I'm not bitter honey, honest!

You should never believe everything you read, but it seems that Dumbledore is now the 'only gay in Hogwarts'!!

Yup I read that story. Quite interesting really - probably piss off even more right wing evos who think Harry Potter is the epitome of evil already.
